Support Time and Recovery Worker

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and compassionate Support Time and Recovery Worker, ideally with community experience, to work within the Bolton OACMHT.

As a Support Time and Recovery Worker, you will work directly with service users and their carers to support and empower them to engage in their recovery/maintain independence. You will establish therapeutic relationships to address recovery goals in order to help service users to gain access to a range of resources and services to facilitate connection within the local community. Work closely with Care Coordinators to meet the individual needs of service users, visiting people at their own home as required.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills with the support of the wider MDT and Leadership Team. There will be opportunities to develop skills in therapeutic, evidence-based interventions for service users with organic and/or functional mental illness, and also complex physical health needs. You will learn the role of each member of the team and be allowed the opportunity to work autonomously within your role under the guidance of Care Coordinators and the Leadership Team.

Applicants are expected to have an understanding of the current Care programme Approach, and also awareness of the ongoing Community Transformation plans.

Main duties of the job

  • To establish and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with service users and their carers.
  • To establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues within the CMHT.
  • To work under the direct supervision of Registered Social Workers, Registered OT's and Registered Nurses.
  • Develop plans to support recovery based on individual need.
  • To contribute to MDT meetings.
  • To promote and encourage independence and engagement within the local community.
