Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, ambitious, and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist or Cognitive Behaviour Therapist to join our Early Detection and Intervention Team (EDIT) in Salford. You will work alongside colleagues to provide evidence based therapeutic interventions to individuals at risk of developing a first episode psychosis. You will contribute to the assessment of individuals referred to EDIT and will receive training and supervision in using specialist assessment tools. The role also involves working collaboratively with colleagues in EDIT and Early Intervention (EI) team to review referrals in MDT meetings.

You will participate in service-related activity including research, service evaluation and audit activities, and will receive supervision from a Clinical Psychologist.

Main duties of the job

The EDIT team support individuals 14-35 years old who are at risk of developing a first episode psychosis. The post holders will be expected to deliver psychological interventions to individuals at risk of developing a first episode psychosis. You will also be responsible for assessing individuals referred to EDIT using the Comprehensive Assessment of At-Risk Mental States (CAARMS). You will contribute to MDT referrals meetings supporting the wider MDT to make decisions about referrals into the service. You will participate in service-related activity including research, service evaluation and audit activities. There is opportunity to contribute to and attend Psychosocial Intervention training sessions delivered across EDIT and EI. The role can involve liaising with colleagues across other services. The team often have trainee Clinical Psychologists on placement and so there is opportunity to contribute towards their learning and development.
