Assistant Psychologist

Job summary
We are looking to recruit a motivated assistant psychologist to join our assessment team. You will work alongside the wider MDT to complete assessments for service users referred to EIT who are experiencing symptoms of a First Episode of Psychosis. You will work alongside other assistant psychologists in the team to screen and feedback information to the wider MDT before supporting the completion of structured assessments with service users. This is a varied role with training opportunities and support from a large psychology team and wider MDT. We have weekly PSI training sessions in the team which you will be encouraged to attend alongside wider training and development opportunities. We offer weekly Psychosocial Intervention training sessions to the wider team that you can contribute to the delivery of and that you will be encouraged to attend. You will receive weekly supervision from a clinical psychologist and will be supported to access other developmental opportunities through the Trust.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for receiving referrals into the team. You will work to screen these and gather information before being part of discussion with the MDT to determine if an assessment from EIT is required. You will work as a second practitioner to support assessments of service users for the team. As an assistant psychologist you will be part of MDT discussions about the outcome of assessments for service users.
