Job summary
Reporting to the Senior Catering Services Manager, the Catering Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a quality catering service, managing the food production operations, anddelivery of services at multiple locations
Overseeing Food safety and legislation aspects of a busy Catering Department.
Ensure that all food is presented and served in line with Trust standards using innovation in the method, presentation and food service.
Monitor and maintain consistent food standards and quality across all areas and during all stages of production.
To understand and having a working knowledge of all current Health and Safety, HACCP and Food Safety Legislation and to be conversant with the rules contained therein.
To work with Catering management team in maintaining the current 5* ratings from local authorities in Food Safety Compliance
Working to and in line with NHS Catering Standards and moving the Trust towards Exemplar status within catering services
Whilst working with the development team look to develop, inspire and oversee team training whilst implementing required in role personal development plans and schedules.
The successful post holder will cover 3 main production and service sites, and be responsible for their financial budgeting position.
Main duties of the job
To provide a professional catering service, managing the production of food within the Food Services department, including menu development
To ensure that set standards, procedures and processes to produce high-quality food are adhered too and comply with all internal and external food production regulations and legislation.
To supervise, develop and support all members of the team across all catering sites within the Trust footprint.
Liaising with members of the Food Services Operations Management team to provide a comprehensive customer journey for services users, staff and visitors.

specifically in terms of Hospital Food Standards, green plan and Government Buying Standards,
The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external partners to deliver nutritional requirements across all GMMH sites. They will integrate their work around the GMMH Food and Drink Strategy in line with the NHS Hospital Food and Drink Standards.
Supporting the operations team to develop the Catering Teams skills at site level as well as drive compliance and understanding of the systems and procedures through ongoing training, mentoring, coaching and development
This role will involve ongoing review and development of all aspects of the food journey from purchasing, production menu creation, through to plate service, ensuring a field to fork approach throughout. There will also be a requirement to develop and embed digital processes such as electronic patient meal ordering or training packages.
