This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Older Adults Community Mental Health Team based in Sale at Crossgate House, which provides a peripatetic service to people living across the borough of Trafford. The Older Adults Community Mental Health Team in Trafford is an integrated health and social care service and strives to provide quality recovery-based support to people with organic and functional mental health problems. Under the line management and clinical supervision from within the team, the post holder will maintain and co-ordinate timely and appropriate interventions for a caseload of service users living in the community within the framework of CPA, in line with relevant clinical pathways as outlined within the Older Adults CMHT operational procedure. This includes respecting the individuality, values, culture and religious diversity of clients and colleagues and thus contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs. The role involves some out of hours work across 7 days 9am-5pm
Main duties of the job
Job Summary/Purpose
- To manage a defined caseload of clients within the Older Adults Community Mental Health Team with complex physical and mental health needs in the community, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and record all interventions, and in line with relevant clinical pathway (functional or dementia) as outlined within the OACMHT operational procedure
- To provide professional advice for junior staff and support staff.
- To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the OACMHT service with the designated team, holding responsibility for defined projects.
- To regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on fieldwork placement.
- To abide by the College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the College of Occupational Therapy Professional Standards for OT Practice.
- To participate in the duty assessment rota operated by the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team
