An excellent opportunity has arisen to recruit a Social Worker to Central Manchester Later Life Community Mental Health Team.
This vacancy is a band 6 position however will also be considered as a band 5 position with the opportunity to progress to Band 6 on completion of the ASYE course

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work within an integrated, later life multi-disciplinary team within Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will provide assessment for service users and carers, in line with the Care Act (2014) and s.117 of the Mental Health Act. They will work with individuals with a range of mental disorders which include schizophrenia, affective disorders, dementias and personality disorders.
They will work to the Social Work England Professional Standards.
The post holder will report to the Team Manager for day to day management. Professional social work supervision will be provided by a Senior Social Worker who will also support their ASYE year.
The post holder will aim at all times to promote the independence and well-being of adults with mental health needs; assist social inclusion and work in a strength and asset-based way.
Increased support and supervision will be available due to their ASYE status but they will be expected to work autonomously and independently, assessing, formulating, implanting and agreeing care and support plans for adults and carers.
They will be responsible for working in partnership with other agencies supporting adults and carers.
On successful completion of ASYE which usually takes one year, they will move to a band 6 post which involves undertaking more complex work such as s42 safeguarding enquiries, Court of Protection work and AMHP training and practice
