An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trial CBT Therapist / Clinical Psychologist to join the Trust's Research and Development Department on a fixed term basis for 12 months initially (start date April 2023). Secondment is an option.
The Bipolar At Risk Trial II (BART II) is an Efficacy and Mechanism Evaluation trial which has been awarded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The applicant will be working in a highly novel area of prevention with a team of leading experts in bipolar disorder including those with lived experience. The aim of BART II is to investigate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for those considered "at risk" for bipolar disorder, and to hopefully help shape NHS services for this population group. Data from this study will inform service development. The applicant will receive specialist therapy training and frequent supervision to conduct the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (termed CBT_BAR) with this population group.
Main duties of the job
The aim of BART II is to investigate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for those considered "at risk" for bipolar disorder, and to hopefully help shape NHS services for this population group. The post holder will receive specialist manualised therapy training and frequent supervision to conduct the Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (termed CBT_BAR) with this population group.
Potential other responsibilities will include contributing to the planning, coordinating and completing different research projects undertaken at the Youth Mental Health Research Unit, whilst maintaining a particular focus on BART II. The post holder will provide clinical supervision support to research assistants. The post holder will work within the policies, procedures and guidelines for the trust. The post holder will work autonomously but plan and organise their work schedule and tasks within the parameters of the Job Plan agreed with their manager.
