Job summary
We are looking for band 6 Occupational Therapists to work in our community mental health teams across Manchester . The post holders will lead a small group of recovery workers within the team and provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions directly to service users. This is a brilliant opportunity to work as a team to develop links with employers, student support, housing related ad other groups and to support service users develop socially valued roles in society.
The posts are supported by lead band 7's within the area of Manchester they are working.
Main duties of the job
The Occupational Therapist will act as recovery lead for the Community Mental Health Team in South Mersey. They will lead as a small team consisting of recovery inclusion staff, a housing resettlement worker and alongside an employment worker.
The post holder will carry out evidence based occupational and employment assessments and write up reports of a high standard, which highlight how biological sociological and psychological factors interact to create obstacles to the satisfactory participation of an individual service user in valued social roles.
From the case formulation the post holder will make recommendations to and access support from appropriate professionals and agencies, or deliver Occupational Therapy interventions with the aim of gaining or restoring a balance of social roles for the individual.
Where cases are complex the post holder will accept support from senior Occupational Therapy staff in the analysis and case formulation
