Job summary

An exciting opportunity has been developed within GMMH Wigan and Bolton CAMHS. We are developing a new intensive team, Ealing Model for GMMH CAMHS. This is a role that will truly enable you to make a system wide difference to children and families who are experiencing difficulties associated with complex autism and learning disabilities. It is a chance develop and work as part of a multi disciplinary team a service aligned to the Ealing Model, but also drawing on your knowledge and expertise of the needs of this population. It is an exciting and transformational project.

As our occupational therapist (OT), you'll work collaboratively with our CAMHS and other Mental Health Services across the system, as well as Acute and/or Specialist Hospitals, the Police, Education and Social Care.

This is a diverse and challenging role, where you'll provide OT assessment and intervention to children and adolescents who are experiencing a mental health crisis and/or difficulties. You'll need to enable these children and adolescents - and those that support them - to participate meaningfully in everyday activities, maximising independence and minimising risk. Plus, you'll help build relationships with our hospitals and and prevent admission

Main duties of the job

To be successful in this role, it's vital that you are a HCPC registered OT with a diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy. You should also have evidence of continuing professional development through relevant paediatric post-graduate, short-specialist training courses. Plus, clinical experience in a range of settings including home, education and community. Clinical leadership is also desirable but not essential.

You'll need to be flexible, motivated and reliable with excellent planning and organisational skills. You should also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and be willing to embrace new ways of working. It's also important that you can recognise people's right to privacy and dignity - treating every person with respect
