Main duties of the job

  • To provide training, team reflective practice and case formulation within multi-agency services working in the homeless sector.

  • To work with multidisciplinary and multiagency colleagues on shared ways of understanding and engaging individuals who have often either failed to engage with, or benefit from, other mental health services, and can be particularlyhard to help.
  • To deliver highly specialist psychological assessment and interventions to clients with complex, severe and longstanding mental health difficulties, which frequently involve high risk behaviour, considering where they can best access help and support.
  • To work to an Assertive Outreach (AO) model, recognising the unique and individual needs of people who are homeless/at risk of homelessness and who are likely to have experienced past trauma, challenges with working under prescriptive models of care and barriers to accessing mainstream services.
  • To contribute to the service delivery and target objectives/priorities of the GMMH Homeless Hub plans, in agreement with the relevant team leaders/managers, to ensure the most efficient and effective utilization and contribution of psychological knowledge and practice.
