Job summary
The post-holder will work within the Primary Care team based within HMP Wymott in Lancashire. The team has a multidisciplinary approach, and we provide both primary and secondary care to the men in HMP Wymott.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of evidence based, clinical interventions on a physical health level.
The post holder will be a positive role model to prisoners accessing the service and will play an active role in the multidisciplinary team.
The role will focus on support with general health and will support prisoners with involvement and participation in their care, with some focus on elderly care.
Working hours are on a rota basis over 7 days.
You must have been in the UK for 12 months prior to applying for this post and be able to provide a 6 year address history to be able to complete the prison clearance.
Main duties of the job
- To manage clinics to monitor physical health needs, facilitating bloods clinics, ECG and completing physical observations.
- Assist with personal care.
- Assist with medication by being a second signer.
- Complete all relevant training identified required in facilitating physical health clinics, including NEWS2 and phlebotomy training.
- Keep clinical records of all patient related activity in line with service protocols and use these records and clinical outcome data in clinical decision making.
