This is an exciting opportunity for a minimum of two individuals with a passion for E Rostering and Temporary Staffing to join our newly created team and help drive forward improvements in staff experience, safety and efficiencies. Working to our very experienced Head of E Roster & Temporary Staffing, you will be provided with a supportive environment to learn, develop and grow a career within Greater Manchester Mental Health.
Main duties of the job
As E Roster and Temporary Staffing Manager you will manage the day-to-day operations and implementation of policies and processes to ensure the benefits realisation of effective e-rostering and temporary staffing solutions, in compliance with legislation and best practice.
You will have responsibility for delivering a high-quality service that is proactive in responding to market forces that impact on e-rostering and temporary staffing and is flexible in supporting managers and clinicians across community and in-patient services. A key programme of work for the team will be the implementation and utilisation of Safe Care.

E Roster Management
- To deliver a high-quality e-rostering service, ensuring seamless integration with other workforce functions (e.g., payroll, ESR).
- To troubleshoot issues with the e-rostering system, including liaising with Allocate support services and other internal workforce functions, as required.
- To maintain expert knowledge of legislation, best practice, and market developments, in relation to e-rostering, ensuring policies and procedures are reviewed and updated.
- To analyse data and produce high-quality and professional presentations and reports to support decision-making and improve utilisation of e-rostering systems.
- To lead on work to improve benefits realisation in accordance with the Levels of Attainment (LOA) for e-rostering.
- To provide support and guidance for staff and managers in relation to e-rostering, including the provision of appropriate training and education.
- To ensure business continuity plans are in place, and any risks in relation to the delivery of e-rostering services are identified and resolved or escalated, as required.
Temporary Staffing
To deliver a high-quality and efficient service, ensuring that temporary staff are engaged in compliance with quality and value for money standards. To maintain expert knowledge of legislation, rules, and best practice guidance, and to horizon scan for up-coming changes in relation to the temporary staffing market, ensuring policies and procedures are reviewed and updated. To influence and motivate bank and agency suppliers to comply with local policies and procedures, ensuring that compliant agencies are prioritised, and the cascade is tightly managed in accordance with this. To lead on work to reduce high-cost and off framework agency usage across the organisation. To promote use of bank over agency, including sharing expert knowledge and advice on the clinical and non-clinical risks and shortfalls of agency usage and influencing agency spend reduction.
