What is Adult Forensic Care Group? - Our services support those and provide treatment, rehabilitation and aftercare for people who have serious mental illness with a moderate risk to themselves or others, meaning they require a more secure environment. This could be a medium or low secure setting with our wards specialising in each part of a service users' recovery and aims to prepare them for life in the community.

Main duties of the job

Why the Adult Forensic Care Group? -We offer continuous professional and personal development at AFS and have recently recruited a 'Professional Lead for Nursing' who is key, in driving personal and professional development for our nursing workforce. If you are a newly qualified nurse or re-joining the nursing workforce, we support you through our 'Preceptorship' framework to help you through learning the role within GMMH, gaining skills and confidence. Further personal and professional development is reviewed through your line management supervision and appraisal process, with access to CPD courses and online learning throughout your nursing career.

About the Role:

Our nurses are an active and integral role within the multidisciplinary team, providing safe and effective care and treatment to our service users. The role is ward-based, assisting with the smooth coordination and running of the ward environment. This role will give you the opportunity to further develop your leadership skills as you provide guidance to support workers and students on the ward. You will participate and contribute as a crucial member of the MDT, providing reviews of service users and support to our service users throughout their journey as a primary named nurse.
