Job summary
This is a permanent Band 6 Registered Mental Health nurse position. You will be responsible for contributing to the provision of a high-quality mental health service for young people across two Secure Children's Homes (SCHs), within the Health and Justice Directorate. The role will be predominantly based at Marydale lodge, In St Helens, but there will be the occasion where cover will have to be provided at Barton Moss SCH in Salford (very close to the Trafford Centre - Milage and expenses paid for travel).
Marydale Lodge is a 14 bedded secure residential service for young men and women under the age of 18, who will arrive under a legal care and welfare order which hands responsibility to Nugent care for all aspects of their residential care. GMMH are the healthcare provider into the service, who are responsible for all aspects of their healthcare needs, and as such you will work closely as part of a multi disciplinary clinical team .
This role is an exciting and diverse role which will involve managing a caseload of complex young people, and liaising with a number of different agencies within the secure centre, and externally. The role will include all aspect of care and management for the young person, in accordance with the national service specification for young people in secure care.
Main duties of the job
As part of this role you will be working for Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, and you will be working with highly specialist Secure Children's services. Marydale Lodge and Barton Moss are a healthcare contract from NHS England, and both of the services won the 'Clinical Team of the Year' Award - at the Celebrating Success awards for GMMH in 2022-2023.
To work within a multi-disciplinary Healthcare team as a registered mental health nurse, providing a package of individualised care for young people in the Secure Childrens Homes.
