Job summary

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Company Secretary to join our team supporting the Associate Director of Corporate Governance / Company Secretary.

Providing corporate governance expertise, accurate minuting and ensuring the Trust's corporate and organisational governance arrangements work effectively. The role also provides specific governance support and training to the Council of Governors to enable them to plan and discharge their duties.

Main duties of the job

The Assistant Company Secretary reports to and provides assistance to the Associate Director of Corporate Governance & Company Secretary on a wide range of corporate governance tasks and will play a key role in the team which forms a link between Board of Directors, Council of Governors and the Trust. The Assistant Company Secretary will deputise where appropriate for the Associate Director of Corporate Governance & Company Secretary during periods of absence.

The Assistant Company Secretary will support the Associate Director of Corporate Governance & Company Secretary in the provision of an integrated governance structure and support to the Board of Directors, Council of Governors and Board committees and will work closely with the Executive Team as well as other Board Members and Governors.

The Assistant Company Secretary will lead on supporting Governors and Membership, in addition to supporting any allocated Committees and fulfilling other duties ensuring that the Council of Governors are supported to function effectively.

The Assistant Company Secretary will lead on the development and implementation of the Trust's Membership Strategy and support the achievement of the Trust's corporate objectives with regards to Membership. This will include taking a leading role in encouraging the active participation and engagement of members in shaping the Trust's delivery of services and future plans.

  • Educated to degree level or with a comparable work experience and evidence of continuous professional development
