Job summary
The post holder will assist researchers at the Complex Trauma and Resilience Research Unit with the preparation of grant applications for research funding from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and assist with the organisation and running of dissemination events for an existing grant. They will provide day-to-day support to the PI, project manager, and research team, and ensure adherence to research governance requirements of the Trust and the University of Manchester.
The post is offered part-time only for 6 months, working 2 days per week (40% FTE).
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to have proven and substantial experience in conducting research; for example, by having previously assisted in the running of a funded research study and/or a postgraduate (Masters or PhD) study.
The post holder will contribute to the writing of grant applications, including involvement in conducting literature reviews and assisting with study design. They will also contribute to stakeholder engagement and the organisation of dissemination events for existing research studies.

The post-holder will receive line management support from a Research Fellow at the Complex Trauma and Resilience Research Unit in Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH). This includes regular line management supervision, clear objective setting for 3, 6 and 12 months and annual appraisals thereafter (depending on continued funding for the post).
