Job summary

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity in our community Eating Disorders Service in Manchester. This is a full-time (37.5 hours) permanent post, for a band 6 mental health practitioner. We are seeking someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about working with people who have an eating disorder and their loved ones.

The post-holder will join a friendly and experienced multi-disciplinary team, which includes a another mental health practitioner, as well as psychological therapists, a psychiatrist, and physician associate, dietitians and a support worker.

We are a specialist community team, which offer treatment and support for those with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and OSFED. We also offer a FREED early intervention pathway, and offer support for loved ones of those who have an eating disorder.

Previous experience of working with this client group is not essential, and training and support will be provided.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide case management for individuals, overseeing their care in the service. This will include close liaison and joint working other members of the team, as well as external teams/ agencies.

The post holder will also lead a pathway for adults with a severe and enduring eating disorder; to collaboratively work with and support these individuals, their carers and partnership organisations to improve quality of life and achieve/maintain stability of health.

There will also be scope to deliver brief CBT interventions, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist.
