Job summary
The post of Operational Manager for South Manchester Urgent Care is integral to the continued delivery of safe, effective and high quality urgent mental health services. The post holder will play an integral part in the development and delivery of flexible, personal and responsive Mental Health Liaison, Crisis and Home Based Treatment provision in South Manchester.
The Operational Manager provides leadership and operational management to the divisional urgent care team i.e. the all-age Mental Health Liaison Team covering Wythenshawe Hospital and Trafford General Hospital and the South Manchester Home Based Treatment Team
The Operational Manager will provide clinical leadership and direction in partnership with the Consultant for teams in maintaining clinical and non-clinical standards of care and in implementing service improvements. The post holder will also play a proactive role in respective divisional SLT as required, and participate in the bronze manager on-call rota.
Main duties of the job
The Operational Manager for Urgent Care is responsible for providing quality and effective urgent care including management and performance of the Home Based Treatment Team and the All Age Mental Health Liaison Team. In addition, the Operational Manager participates in ensuring the health, wellbeing and development of the workforce.
The post holder will be a key part of the South and Central Care Group senior leadership team.
The post holder will be required to provide management and professional leadership to the urgent care Team Managers, and will be accountable for the teams' performance and all aspects of line management to the staff resource including the implementation of appraisal and professional development planning.
The person who is successful in this role will play a central role in leading the continuous development of the teams in order to provide effective urgent care mental health services that work in partnership with our service users as well as VSCO stakeholders.
The role requires experience in managing change, managing priorities and maintaining resilience which will be key in the very exciting period of service development.
The post holder will, as required, participate in the Trusts on call rota for Bronze On-call Managers.
