Job summary

This post is to work within the mental health team across the three Approved Premises within GMMH footprint. The post holder is responsible for providing psychological care to adult, male service users who are living in Approved Premises at St Joseph's, Withington Rd and Chorlton Rd.

Psychological care includes providing evidence-based model-specific psychological assessment, formulation and therapy, facilitating groups, providing advice and consultation to colleagues, and to other non-professional carers, on psychological aspects of assessment, formulation, care and treatment.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.

The post holder will provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

The post holder will contribute to training on a multi-disciplinary basis.

The post holder will participate in clinical audit and service development within the remit of the post.

The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework ofthe service's policies and procedures.

The post holder will take line management responsibility for junior staff / health and wellbeing practitioners.The post holder will receive clinical supervision in line with current trust policy by an appropriate registered health professional.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Community Health and Justice services for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. We are looking for a candidate with experience of offender mental health and delivering psychological interventions to join our Approved Premises Mental Health Team. Greater Manchester Mental Health is an award winning mental health Trust, providing health and social care services. The Trust serves communities in Bolton, Manchester, Salford, Trafford and Wigan as well as offender mental health services across the North West. We also offer local alcohol and drug services throughout several boroughs of Greater Manchester and Lancashire, as well as regional inpatient services.An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Health and Justice division of our Specialist Services Network. GMMH delivers systematic and high-quality specialist forensic services for the assessment and treatment of men and women with mental disorder and psychological difficulties.The successful candidate will be joining the mental health team at St Joseph's Approved Premises that has established strong links with the local criminal justice and health providers to deliver this exciting new project.
