Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a researcher to work across a number of high-profile research projects within the GM.Digital Research Unit. For example, we are working with a digital mental health intervention which supports 7-12 year olds who experience symptoms of anxiety. The project will evaluate the implementation of the digital intervention.

Another project is, the Enhancing CAMHS referrals project (EnCAMHS) is looking at improving the quality of referrals to CAMHS services. We aim to understand what the difficulties are in making referrals to CAMHS services. We want to find low-cost and widely reusable mechanisms to reduce inappropriate referrals and to improve the quality of referrals to CAMHS services so that only children and young people who can be helped by CAMHS are referred.

The post holder will also work across various other projects and activities within the GM.Digital Research Unit, related to digital mental health.

The Research Associate will work with the research team in the GM.Digital Research Unit, Greater Manchester Mental Health (GMMH) NHS Foundation Trust, remotely due to COVID-19 restrictions, however this may change when possible. This full-time post is funded for 10 months from the start date.

This full-time post funded until March 2023 with possibilities of renewal.

Main duties of the job

The research associate will contribute towards the day-to-day operation of research projects under the guidance of the Project Managers. They will ensure that daily tasks and ongoing workloads are prioritised and completed within agreed timeframes, will actively participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary study team and will prepare for, attend, and actively contribute to relevant meetings.

The Research Associate will be involved in assisting the GM.Digital leadership team in the design and implementation of digital mental health research projects, contribute to grant applications and submissions, contribute to the accurate collection and secure management of data, and assist with quantitative and qualitative analysis. They will conduct sensitive focus groups and digital co-design workshops with participants as well as contribute to PPIE activities hosted by the GM.Digital Research Team including the CAMHS.Digital Young People.
