Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Manchester Early Intervention Service for a motivated and confident professionally qualified mental health practitioner to lead the assessment term on a secondment basis for 12 weeks commencing on 22 August 2022.

As the successful candidate you will lead and oversee the access to the service to ensure access standards are met and resources are used most effectively to meet the access standards.

You will have line management responsibility for two Band 6 assessment practitioners and so will be supported in developing skills in person development and leadership.

You will develop and communicate performance reports relating to this aspect of the service.

You will take a lead on overseeing progress for safeguarding cases and supporting teams within Manchester EIS with more complex cases.

This role gives you an opportunity to develop assessment skills specific to EIS and also a breadth of experience in leadership, service performance monitoring and improvement.

Main duties of the job

- Provide leadership, supervision, support and consultation to all professionals within the team, in line with relevant clinical pathway as outlined within the operational procedures.

- Additionally the postholder will act as lead representing the service in wider organisational forums.

- Manage and evaluate a caseload of people awaiting assessment and triage, in line with relevant clinical pathway as outlined within the operational procedure and will include: -

    • Assessment
    • Formulation
    • Therapeutic intervention as required
    • Signposting
    • Close working with all colleagues

- Undertake line management responsibility for designated staff in the EIS .

- Deputise for the Team Manager his/her absence and take on any delegated management duties as required.

  • Understanding of current national policy and initiatives in relation people with an at risk mental state or first episode of psychosis.
