Job summary

We have an opportunity for a qualified Mental Health Nurse with an interest in working with Older Adults . The post is based at Maple Ward, North Manchester General Hospital. We would welcome applications from students that are currently studying towards their qualification.

Maple ward is a female, 20 bedded later life ward based at Park House, North Manchester General Hospital. We care for both functional and organic patients, and also patients with complex physical health care needs. This makes it an ideal first post for preceptors who have an interest in physical health.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to co-ordinate the smooth running of the ward, and to maintain and develop quality, person-centred care.

You will be required to complete assessment of individual patient needs, plan, implement and evaluate plans of care which will maximise an individual's potential.

A range of skills are needed; both in general mental health nursing, and also nursing patients with dementia.

This patient group & their carer's respond well to warm, caring & enthusiastic staff, making work a rewarding & fulfilling experience. It is therefore essential you have excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for being a Nurse.
