Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Professional Trainer initially on a 12 month basis.

We would like to hear from experienced practitioners working in Mental Health and/or Substance Misuse with experience of delivering training and who are interested in contributing to the continued professional development of staff and volunteers across the trust and with external organisations..

The successful candidate may be expected to work from home, at sites across the Trust's geographical area and, occasionally travel across the UK.

The vacancy is based within the Occupational Development and Training Team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a competent and experienced trainer who will liaise with and engage clinical/mental health experts across the Trust (Adult Mental Health; Child and Adolescent Mental Health; Deafness and Mental Health; Substance Misuse; Homeless Services; and Health and Justice services) to provide mental and physical health, substance misuse and practice skills related training opportunities for staff and volunteers. Training is also provided to partner and other external agencies.

The post holder will work closely with the Occupational Development and Training Lead to identify, develop, deliver/co-deliver, assess, monitor and evaluate training sessions and/or learning programmes. This may also include working with awarding bodies (Open Awards) for nationally accredited or quality assured programmes.

The post holder will support the wider training team to deliver other training interventions (Bespoke packages) and occupational development activities aimed at equipping staff with the knowledge and skills they need to successfully undertake their roles.

The post holder will raise the profile of the Occupational Development and Training Team by actively engaging in marketing (promoting) courses aimed at income generation.

Essential

  • Educated to degree level in a related health and social care subject, or, a relevant professional qualification e.g. DIPSW, RMN, RGN
  • Teaching/training qualification e.g. PTTLS; PGCE; PGDE; BEd or willing to work towards achieving a qualification.

  • MINT Motivational Interviewing trainer
