Are you a Dietitian looking for a new challenge? Or are you a Dietitian already working in mental health looking for a new opportunity to develop and expand your skills? We are looking for a motivated Band 6 Dietitian to join our growing, friendly team.
You will have the opportunity to work across a range of different mental health units within Greater Manchester. You will manage a complex caseload which will include older adults, mother and baby, substance misuse, forensic and adults of working age looking at all aspects of Dietetic care; including weight management, diabetes, nutrition support, enteral feeding, eating disorders and much more. You will be working closely with the multidisciplinary team and supervise Dietetic Assistant Practitioners.
The job involves both 1:1 support and groups for service users.
As a Trust, we are keen to promote training and CPD. You will receive all the required training and support in order to be successful in this role.
Main duties of the job
- To receive dietetic referrals from across a wide range of services and to effectively prioritise according to clinical need.
- To provide specialist nutrition assessment and care plans for service users within mental health inpatient services.
- To provide evidence based dietetic interventions and monitor the outcome of those interventions in conjunction with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of Conduct and British Dietetic Association (BDA).
- To participate in the Care Programme Approach (CPA), case conferences, MDT and ward rounds where appropriate, providing specialist nutritional advice and care plans.
- To organise and interpret test results, providing advice to the MDT on the management of patients.
- To assess the learning needs and educational ability of service users in order to provide suitable nutritional educational resources.
