Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Nurses to join the Salford Home Based Treatment Team in the developing crisis bed and listening lounge offering in Salford.

The Salford Listening Lounge is a new initiative that aims to support Salford residents who are in mental health crisis, and require an assessment of their mental health needs, in a calm and supportive environment as an alternative to A&E.

The post holder will also provide support, care planning, assessment and interventions to service users under the Salford Home Based Treatment team who are accessing the Hollybank crisis beds.

The post holder will be responsible for assessing health and social care needs and providing a gate keeping role within the Salford directorate. They will assist with assessment away from the emergency department.

This is a developing role which will provide the opportunity for ongoing professional development and training.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide clinical assessments and interventions focusing on relapse prevention, psychosocial interventions and improved quality of life for service users who are experiencing mental ill health.

Within a team approach, the post holder will work across the 3 settings as required, providing a variety of supporting treatments and interventions.

The post holder will be expected to offer highly developed risk assessments and management plans with an emphasis on recovery and supporting service users to remain in the community.
