Job summary

This is a Senior CAMHS Practitioner post within Solar, working predominately with children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties, delivering psychological therapies. The post holder will need to hold a relevant professional qualification (RMN, OT, SW) and hold current registration with NMC, HCPC or Social Work England.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The post holder is responsible for the assessment for and provision of psychological interventions in accordance with service and supervision based on formulation of the person's needs and the development of a relevant plan based upon negotiated goals and relevant evidence-based interventions. The post holder, in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, will provide appropriate psychological interventions to support the person to meet their agreed goals and coordinate and/ or participate in the review of progress towards those goals, utilising recommended outcome measures, involving the service user and any identified carer throughout the intervention.

Main duties of the job

o Will act as a Senior CAMHS Practitioner within SOLAR.

o Will manage a defined caseload within the service, developing specialised programmes of care to meet mental health needs of the 0-18 population.

o Will be responsible for the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of care within agreed parameters, and have a working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation, which govern current service provision and audit.

o Supervision and consultancy to other mental health professionals and involved in the development of psychological therapy provision within the service as appropriate.

o Will be responsible for ensuring the promotion of equality diversity and rights in accordance with good practice and legislation.

o Will be responsible for identifying and contributing to the training needs necessary in providing quality evidence based care as appropriate.

o Represent the CAMHS Manager, as required and as appropriate to this role.

o Provide professional leadership, day-to-day supervision and support for the defined team or teams, to take on a consultative role, based on developing skills, experience and expertise within the wider team

o Be responsible for ensuring the delivery of commissioned CAMHS service within a defined locality. This may include taking responsibility and leading the development of a defined element of the service
