Are you a dedicated, highly motivated Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or equivalent Applied Psychological Professional looking for an exciting opportunity to step into a consultant-level post within our NHS Talking Therapies Service, Birmingham Healthy Minds?
We are excited to be recruiting for a Consultant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Equivalent Applied Psychological Professional to contribute at a senior level to effective provision of quality psychological services within Birmingham Healthy Minds.
We welcome applicants from Clinical/Counselling Psychology and Applied Psychological Professionals who are ready to step into a Consultant-level post and meet the person specification.
Main duties of the job
In this role, you will be part of a multi-professional senior leadership team committed to providing and maintaining high quality standards and compassionate psychological care, as well as fostering positive working relationships with other Primary Care and Mental Health Teams in the context of transformation. You will also join our expanding group of Consultant Psychological Professionals across the Trust who are working together to provide leadership for the best possible compassionate and inclusive psychological care for our service users, their families, carers and our diverse communities.
Our expanding family of Psychological Professionals are encouraged to participate in research and teaching related activities that are agreed and built into their job plans, and we have close links to higher education institutions in Birmingham and across the Midlands. As a Trust, we host one of the only University and NHS partnership programmes providing post-graduate training in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions. We are also committed to the ongoing development of our Psychological Professions, offering leadership development and coaching opportunities, inc. mentoring for colleagues from ethnic minority backgrounds. You will have access to a dedicated CPD funding stream to support your development. You will also be supported to work and lead at a senior level, to develop system level expertise and enhance our clinical activity meeting the needs of our diverse communities.

- Entry-level qualification in applied psychological therapy/mental health or equivalent and demonstrable practice in this field (i.e. professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level/supervised practice/additional training) that has been accepted for the purposes of professional registration.
- Registered with professional body or regulatory body as appropriate to psychological therapy discipline i.e. HCPC/UKCP/BACP/BABCP.

- Considerable experience of working as a registered Practitioner Psychologist or equivalent psychological applied practice, in a senior position with clinical leadership responsibilities including post qualification experience in the designated function with which this post is concerned.
