Do you want to be part of a team which makes a real difference to people's lives? PROSPER is a community intensive intervention and risk management service on the offender personality disorder pathway in the West Midlands, with its base in Erdington, Birmingham.
PROSPER and its partnership of health and probation practitioners have been nominated for awards by service users due to the committed, compassionate and inclusive approach to delivering clinical services. The service works within a psychological, trauma-informed framework to aid the recovery of men and women transitioning from prison/secure hospitals to community settings, with the MDT providing a holistic approach to recovery. PROSPER thrives on the creative and supportive culture within the team and there is a fantastic opportunity for a clinical specialist Occupational Therapist to join the service.
Main duties of the job
The clinical specialist Occupational Therapist (OT) involves managing a caseload of service users with complex needs, using evidence based/service user centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. As part of the role, you will be expected to be a lead clinician, responsible for the treatment pathway for service users. You will work alongside the MDT in the development and delivery of multi-modal group and 1:1 therapeutic interventions; provide specialist assessments to those being released from prison/secure hospitals, as required; undertake pre-release sessions with men and women in prisons/secure hospitals as part of the early engagement element of the IIRMS model and support the transition from secure settings to community; work in partnership with the probation service and housing colleagues to resettle service users into community living, developing occupational identity and skills. You will also provide support, supervision and leadership within the MDT, as required; and deliver services across a range of venues and locations within the West Midlands community as required, working from the PROSPER Hub in Erdington.
