Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our Community Mental Health Team. Successful applicant will join an already established Occupational Therapy Service, which aims to provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and aftercare to patients with a serious mental illness, whilst being committed to clinical excellence and the provision of high-quality evidence based interventions.

We are seeking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant who has experience in working with people from a range of diverse social and ethnic backgrounds. Applicants must demonstrate a genuine desire to work in mental health and commit to delivering the highest quality of patient centred care using national quality standards and evidence-based practice.

The Trust can offer opportunities to undertake a Level 3 Apprenticeship as part of the development supporting this role and to address GCSE/Functional skills that would support progression.

Main duties of the job

We require someone who is flexible and approachable. Effective communication skills, time management, record keeping and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work well with all members of the multi-disciplinary team.

The successful applicant will be required to drive to work related appointments and meet with service users to support their recovery and rehabilitation. You will be working in a variety of settings, including our Mental Health Hubs in the community, local community venues or in people's homes.
