Job summary

Do you want to be part of an innovative, dynamic organisation that is committed to delivering the best care by the best people? We are looking to appoint an individual who is as passionate about high quality care as we are.

We are seeking to recruit a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry to work alongside four other Consultants based in the North of the City of Birmingham. This is a full time community based post delivering care to adults over the age of 25 years.

We have made great progress in implementing the NHS England community transformation programme, with Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams in place and a move to community based offers to include access to psychological therapies, improved physical healthcare, employment support, personalised and trauma informed care, medicines management and support for self-harm and coexisting substance use.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide medical leadership, in collaboration with the Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, to redesign and reorganise the core CMHT function at Sutton CMHT to become a place-based multidisciplinary service across health and social care aligned with primary care and Voluntary Sectors.

Taking a population health approach to address health inequalities are core to the community transformation programme. A key responsibility will be the collaboration across services to develop strategies to provide outreach services and address unmet needs of the community.
