Job summary
Are you looking for a new role in a senior position and have a dedication to offering services for looked after children and the network around them?
As a highly experienced Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, or Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or equivalent applied psychological practitioner, you would be working alongside the team lead to be responsible for the development, provision, evaluation and governance of psychological/psychotherapy services in our Looked After Children team (LATCH in Solar, emotional wellbeing and mental health services for 0-19 year olds in Solihull).
The Solar LATCH team provides support to the network surrounding looked after children, especially around placement stability and carer/social worker support. The team also provides direct clinical work where appropriate and links in with other practitioners in the service to support and consult.
The Solar LATCH team is situated within the wider emotional wellbeing and CAMHS team at Solar, which is a partnership between Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, Barnardos and Autism West Midlands, at the Bishop Wilson Clinic in Chelmsley Wood.

Main duties of the job
This role will provide clinical leadership in the Solar LATCH team and to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and managerial colleagues to achieve effective, evidence based psychological service provision to people accessing Solar, ensuring that services provided are high quality, cost-effective, culturally appropriate and based on best clinical and professional practice and meet Trust and Service objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations.
The role will involve consultation to the network surrounding looked after children in Solihull, and to other practitioners within Solar. Direct/indirect clinical work will also form part of the role where appropriate. It is also expected that the post holder would provide clinical supervision to other practitioners and consultation/support to the wider Solar team.
