Job summary

An opportunity has arisen in the Postgraduate Medical Education Department where we are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated apprentice to join our small but busy team.

The Postgraduate Medical Education team are the first contact for the Postgraduate Doctors in Training (PGDiT) prior to rotations that take place 4 times per year.

You will provide an effective and efficient administrative service to support both the Rotation Co Ordinator and also the PGME team for Junior Doctors that are both newly commencing and also continuing in BSMHFT.

To achieve a level 3 Qualification and underpinning knowledge to complete the Apprenticeship.

Main duties of the job

To undertake a range of administrative duties to support the work of the team.

To support with the coordination of the Postgraduate Doctors in Training rotations and tracking of all junior doctors requirements via the database associated with the work stream.

To support the rotation coordinator to inform PGDiT of rotation placements , booking ILS courses

To act as first point of contact for all general rotation queries

To develop knowledge and skills.

To be skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, record and analyse data, to provide a range of administrative planning and support in the team.

Liaise effectively to enquiries from Postgraduate Doctors in Training, Consultants, internal and external stakeholders.

Provide Postgraduate Doctors in Training /Consultants information regarding their rotation placements.

To provide cover for colleagues as appropriate when required.

To manage the PGME shared inboxes and respond to queries.

There is a need to be able to work within a busy environment, prioritise workload with accuracy and to deadlines.
