Band 6 / 7 Clinical Psychiatric Pharmacist - Central Pharmacy Services
An excellent opportunity has become available for a highly motivated and dedicated pharmacist at either Band 6 or Band 7 to join our Pharmacy team based in the main Trust Pharmacy on the Highcroft site, Erdington. You will participate in clinical pharmacy services and rotate through a number of our service areas to gain experience in mental health pharmacy.
The Trust Pharmacy service comprises almost 80 staff including 25 pharmacists and 30 pharmacy technicians. The service provides for 110 teams, including inpatients, forensic inpatients, forensic CAMHS, home treatment, assertive outreach, community mental health teams and early intervention.
An interest in mental health is essential but previous mental health experience or hospital pharmacy experience is not essential. The post carries a commitment to participate on the out of hours cover rota.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have the opportunity to gain significant experience of mental health pharmacy. You will also be providing education, performing audits, providing drug information and medicines management advice to service users, carers, and healthcare professionals. you will also participate in Pharmacy based and trust wide projects.
In addition, if needed, the successful candidate will be sponsored to gain the certificate in psychiatric therapeutics from Aston University and will have opportunities to participate in other postgraduate courses.
