Job summary

Solihull Assertive Outreach have a vacancy for an experienced and enthusiastic band 6 OT to join our multidisciplinary team.

Applicants will require a have substantial mental health experience post registration with SMI, complex care service users.

Applicants will require experience of managing people with mental illness and be able to equally work independently and work collaboratively with other team members to provide intensive recovery directed support to service users who present with complex, severe and enduring mental health needs.

The successful applicant will have a special interest in risk assessment and experience in working with service users who can present with challenges regarding motivation and social engagement.

OT's working in AOT meet together for support and development, there is wider contact with the Integrated care OT community and opportunities for internal and external training in the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will hold an OT support package for service users , and will also offer specific Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to individuals. Applicants should have significant experience of working post qualification in mental health services

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with individuals, adopting a creative and problem solving approach to working practice. You will need to be flexible, energetic, have a positive attitude and demonstrate an ability to work autonomously.

You must have experience in working within a high risk environment.
