Band 8B CAMEO Service at HMP Foston Hall
An 8b Psychologist post has become available within the CAMEO Service based at HMP Foston Hall, Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is currently a Senior 8A Psychologist looking to expand their experience with a view to promotion or for an exisitng 8B to further develop their skills / expertise.
The CAMEO Service is a specialist, intensive day treatment personality disorder service for high-risk women with complex needs. The service offers a range of psychological interventions, both group and individual, aiming to alleviate distress for the individual, improve emotional regulation and reduce levels of risk.. Cameo is part of the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway (OPD) and is a partnership service between BSMHFT, HMPPS and Anawim, a third sector Women's charity. The service is now well established and will be celebrating it's 10 year anniversary in 2023.
The post provides an exciting opportunity to lead and develop this established service and to make a significant contribution to the delivery of psychological services across the expanding Secure Care and Offender Health division within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
There are currently around 75 psychology and psychological profession staff within the division and this number is increasing due to the expansion of our services with partner agencies and ongoing innovation. We are a diverse and inclusive service and welcome applications from individuals with a variety of experience.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, robust and innovative Clinical or Forensic psychologist interested in leading a service and engaging in therapeutic work with high risk, complex women. A commitment to developing psychologically minded and well-informed professional staff teams is important, as is an interest in providing opportunities for meaningful service user involvement. Successful candidates will have attributes including excellent time management, report writing, a keen interest in developing diverse and inclusive practices as well as organisational and leadership skills. Experience of secure environments and working with people who have experienced adverse early life experiences, such as trauma, abuse and neglect, is desirable.
The service has identified resources supporting continuing professional development, including excellent multi model supervision structures. Opportunities also exist for collaboration and professional development, including participation in research and academic activity, through links with local academic and training institutions.

- Satisfactory completion of a British Psychological Society accredited Doctoral Level postgraduate professional training course in clinical psychology (the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996), the completion of which includes the study of models of psychopathology, psychometric and neuropsychological assessment, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Eligibility for entry onto the Register of Chartered Psychologists

- Post-doctoral training in one or more highly specialist areas of psychological practice / therapy

- Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical/forensic psychologist for a minimum of 4 years post qualification, with a minimum of at least 2 years at the Senior (highly specialist) level.
- Experience of highly specialist psychological assessment and individual and group based treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including primary and secondary/ specialist care and inpatient/residential, outpatient and community team settings.
