Job summary

We are looking for a new Band 6 Spiritual Care Practitioner to be part of our Spiritual Care team, which is responsible for ensuring the provision of pastoral, spiritual and religious care to service users, families & carers and staff of BSMHFT. Our team includes people from a wide range of faith and belief traditions, including those with no particular religious affiliation. We work together to offer support to anyone associated with BSMHFT, sharing our knowledge and skills with both clinical and non-clinical teams.

On this occasion we are looking for someone who has a broad knowledge of Christianity and the Bible, as well as being open minded enough to support those from other faiths and those with no religious beliefs as well as those who may no longer be supported by their chosen faith community.

The successful applicant will have excellent administration and computer skills being confident using Microsoft excel and publisher.

We welcome applicants with disabilities and those from the LGBTQ+ community. The successful applicant will be required to travel Trust wide around Birmingham, visiting several sites each day.

Main duties of the job

To contribute to the provision of spiritual care to service users, families and carers and staff of BSMHFT, with a particular focus on the needs of those who do not identify with any specific faith or belief group.
