Job summary
Job Purpose:1. To undertake the 18 month CAP apprenticeship programme, encompassing work based practice and learning with academic teaching andstudy2. To work as a semi-autonomous psychological practitioner under the direct supervision of an experienced and HCPC registered ClinicalPsychologist3. To provide effective evidence-based care in line with National and Local guidelines4. To manage a caseload and be responsible for proactive care delivery decisions - within the scope of practice and under the supervision of aHCPC registered Clinical Psychologist5. With training, to plan, assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
Main duties of the job
Principal Duties and Responsibilities1. To undertake a range of clinical activities including psychological assessments, treatments and other types of clinical intervention withindividual service users, carers, families, groups etc; along with other activities such as staff training; research and development activity.2. To work semi-autonomously on a day-to-day basis within their scope of practice under supervision of and subject to review at regular intervalsby a registered practitioner psychologist in accordance with British Psychological Society (BPS) guidelines.3. CAPs adhere to NHS values and legal & ethical responsibilities as a supervised psychological practitioner along with professional (BPS)standards of conduct, performance and ethics, including patient consent and confidentiality.4. To undertake and meet the requirements of a degree apprenticeship including personal study , academic work, research, clinical experience and assessment leading to the award of a Masters Clinical Associate in Psychology.

- Psychology Honours degree (with substantial relevant experience in research or clinical activities if the award received is 2:2 or less)
- GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/grade c or above, or Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English
- Evidence of training/CPD to develop knowledge and theory relevant to work in deaf mental health services
- Eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the British Psychological Society via qualification recognition or by alternative route
