Job summary

A unique and exciting consultant level opportunity has arisen at Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) in the field of Integrated Community Care and Recovery (ICCR) across the Community Transformation Programmer

The role will take a leadership and strategic role in advising, developing and ensuring the delivery of high quality Occupational Therapy practice across all ICCR sites including rehabilitation bed based services ( Steps to recovery ) CMHT and Assertive Outreach teams.

In addition the post holder will play a lead role in the development and delivery of services across ICCR which are recovery focussed and support individuals within the a particular focus on developing opportunities social inclusion.

Main duties of the job

To reflect the core functions of an Occupational Therapy Consultant:

  • An expert practice function

A professional leadership and consultancy function

An education, training and development function

  • A practice and service development research and evaluation function as they apply to ICCR
  • Enabler of new ways of working towards recovery for service users and staff
  • Contribute on behalf of the OT workforce to the programme of Community Transformation
  • Develop the role of service users across service provision
  • Developing peer support networks
