Job summary
Solar, rated 'Good' by the CQC and published in the Journal of Early Intervention in Psychiatry, is a partnership between Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, Barnardo's and Autism West Midlands and provides Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Services to Children, Young People and Families in Solihull.
Solar was set up as a service not about thresholds or tiers but about timely access to appropriate support in line with children and young people's needs. Solar aims to create a comprehensive system, designed around the needs of children and young people, which keeps children and young people healthy as well as treating those that are ill and prioritises resilience, partnership and co-production.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player to provide clear leadership and management of the crisis team and to actively participate in the day to day running of the service. The crisis team provides a service to the young people, their families as well as the multiple agencies within Solihull, 8am-8pm, 7 days a week.
As part of induction in to the role exciting free training opportunities also available with Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families for the CYP Crisis Pathway Workforce.
Modules to cover;
Module 1a An introduction to child and young person crisis mental health: for administrative staff 2 days
Module 1b: An introduction to child and young person crisis mental health: for non-registered clinical staff 2 days
Module 2: An introduction to child and young person crisis mental health: for clinicians 1 day
Module 3: AMBIT (Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrative Treatment) as a team approach to crisis care and risk management 4.5 days
Module 4: Motivational Interviewing and Mentalizing: brief treatment and planning in crisis care 2.5 days
