Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible individual to join our infection prevention and control team.

The post holder will support the Lead/Senior infection control nurse in the delivery of the Trust infection control agenda. You will provide clinical expertise which inspires and motivates others to ensure the highest standards of infection prevention and control practice are delivered in accordance with Trust infection prevention and control policy. You will need to have a recognised teaching qualification with proven leadership and management qualities. The individual will be required to carry out audits and risk assessments.

The successful applicant will be required to work autonomously and as part of the team across all Trust sites. You will require the ability to work in a dynamic, flexible and organised manner, delivering a highly visible and responsive service across the trust.

You will develop working relationships with other corporate functions and external services such as the UK Health Security Agency and infection prevention networks.

Main duties of the job

Applicants should have substantial experience at Band 6 or above. All applicants will hold a first level degree or diploma and evidence post registration education/development in healthcare. It is important that applicants demonstrate a sound knowledge of infection control and experience of implementing infection control in clinical practice and are prepared to travel across trust sites.
