Job summary
Our mental services in Birmingham are undergoing a transformational development in line with the long term plan which will result in closer working relationship with primary care and third sector partners. The way that we are working as OT's in the CMHT continue to evolve in line with this development and therefore a forward thinking flexible approach to developing the OT role is essential.
Our West Hub has a vacancy for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist who wishes to work in its multi-disciplinary teams supporting people with complex, severe and enduring mental health needs. The team is located at Osborne House and supports a diverse central Birmingham population in the Handsworth, Aston, Nechells and Ladywood areas of the city.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with individuals, adopting a creative and problem solving approach to working practice. You will need to be flexible, energetic, have a positive attitude and demonstrate an ability to work autonomously.
Main duties of the job
Successful applicants will hold an OT caseload and will also offer specific Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to individuals. Applicants should have a strong interest or experience of working in mental health services.
The team is looking for someone committed to multi-disciplinary and partnership working, and who can establish good networks with our Recovery College and other voluntary, statutory and independent agencies.
