Job summary

Advanced Nurse Practitioners/duty Lead - Community Mental Health Team.

The service offers support and treatment to service users experiencing moderate to severe mental illness.

Main duties of the job

The post holders will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering care to service users in a range of community settings. Other members of the team include Consultant Psychiatrists, Team Manager, Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologist, Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapist and support workers. The ability to work flexibly in multidisciplinary teams and in a range of settings is therefore essential.

The post holders will be the lead clinician for the duty team based at Maple Leaf centre. The duty team covers the entire Solihull borough (Newington and Lyndon CMHT's). Along with providing strong clinical leadership and expertise for the duty team, the ANP will be a link between Solihull Home Treatment and CMHT's.

The Advanced Nurse Practitioners will hold a very small caseload and will manage regular follow up and assessment clinics. They will work closely with the medical team to ensure effective patient flow and discharge management is maintained.

Applicants must be highly motivated, have a genuine interest in mental health and have experience in mental health care. .
