8C Psychotherapy Consultant Post

Are you a dedicated and highly motivated Psychotherapeutic Practitioner who is passionate about providing and maintaining high quality standards in psychological therapy provision? Are you ready to step into a consultant level post to lead and develop our services Specialist Psychotherapies Services? The service offers tertiary level psychodynamic assessment, individual and group psychoanalytic psychotherapies and multi-model interventions for complex referrals, integrating both psychodynamic and compassion-focussed components.

We are excited to be recruiting fora Consultant Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or Equivalent Applied Practitioner with psychodynamic psychotherapy training/qualification (BPC or UKCP registration) to be able to manage, lead and clinically supervise psychotherapists in Specialist Psychotherapies Services (SPS). You will be part of our multi-professional senior leadership team and will be at the forefront of influencing strategic and clinical planning in Integrated Community Care and Recovery Services (ICCR) and Community Transformation in BSMHFT.

You will also be part of our expanding group of Consultant Psychological Professions within ICCR who are all working together to provide leadership for the best possible compassionate and inclusive psychological care for our service users, their families, carers and our diverse communities.

Main duties of the job

Youwill report professionally to the Trust Chief Psychologist, or delegated lead, and will work alongside associate operational and clinical directors as part of a portfolio clinical and operational leadership team.You will be expected to work clinicallywhichwill be discussed at interview and on appointment based onyourprior experience and expertise in psychodynamic/psychoanalytic and other psychotherapeutic work.

Our clinicians are encouraged to participate inresearch and teaching related activitiesthat are agreed andbuilt intotheirjob plans, andwehave close links to higher education institutions in Birmingham andacrossthe Midlands.Our Trust is also supportive of widerprofessional leadership rolesto improve quality and service user outcomes and experiences, and improving mental health wellbeing and working with communities. You will also be part of our Psychological Professionals Advisory Committee in the Trust, to support the growth, leadership and diversity of our expanding Psychological Professionals workforce across our Trust.

The post is full time with additional psychology on-call responsibilitiesto support our Trust's senior multi-professional out of hours. The post will be based at both Callum Lodge and Coach House, our other site at the Uffculme Centre, but will require flexibility to travel around the Birmingham and Solihull area. Some working from home will be possible.
