Job summary

Due to expansion of the specialist eating disorders service in Birmingham we have an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian with previous experience, or relevant transitional skills and knowledge to join a new team to shape and develop the community eating disorders service.

The role will work closely with colleagues in primary and secondary care settings to advise and consult on complex cases and clinical management.

The post holder will ideally have in depth clinical experience of eating disorders and will use this to help develop a service that meets the needs of the service users.

We will also consider Dietitians with suitable relevant experience who is able to apply the principle of complex case management and clinical risk.

Main duties of the job

    • To provide eating disorder assessment and interventions for adults in the community setting
    • To provide dietetic input to the inpatient unit to meet skill mix and service needs.
    • To work as a member of the multidisciplinary team for eating disorders. This will involve working with individual or groups of service users and their families in the community pathway.
    • To provide a Consultation and Liaison service to local secondary and primary care teams
    • To provide education and training to a range of professionals including pre-registration student training
    • To be an active senior member of the Dietetic team and AHP Division
