Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to come and work in our newly re-designed specialist service. CASCADE is an all-ages DBT-plus service, delivering comprehensive, adapted & DBT-informed therapies, trauma-focused CBT, Schema Therapy and EMDR, to treat core difficulties associated with severe emotional dysregulation, complex PTSD and otherco-occurring presentations related to an Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder.
Our service is the main provider of comprehensive DBT within the organisation. We offer expert advice and consultation to our community teams, acute inpatients, perinatal, eating disorder and other specialist services in their delivery of DBT-informed groups.
We have a wealth of experience in working with personality disorder and trauma. We are committed and passionate about the care we deliver, to improve access to specialist psychotherapies for BAME and LGBTQ+ service users, and to provide an equitable, culturally adaptive service.
Main duties of the job
You will join a small team delivering comprehensive DBT (skills group, I:I therapy, phone coaching, team consult) across our separate adults, young adults (18-25) and adolescent DBT programmes. You will lead on the delivery of our supplementary and psychoeducation groups on mental health issues, PTSD, mindfulness, family & carers workshops. You will support the implementation of DBT-informed groups within other inpatient and community teams, as well as supervise junior staff and deliver staff training. Additional DBT supervisor training and in DBT-PE will be supported.
The post is suitable for an intensively trained and experienced DBT practitioner with a recognised postgraduate diploma in DBT. Applications from those still to complete their training are welcomed. If you are a psychological therapist with experience in CBT, or other psychotherapy training, we will consider appointments at a Band 6 level, whilst you undergo the DBT training, which will be provided as part of this role.
