Job summary
This post is a rare opportunity to lead the psychological provision in an established medium secure unit within BSMHFT which serves the Midlands area. Reaside Clinic is a 90-bedded MSU within the expanding/ innovative Secure Care and Offender Health directorate. This post reflects a leadership role in the management of services and the strategic development of psychological service provision as part of achieving safe, effective, valued clinical and service pathways, to support recovery and rehabilitation. Your leadership, innovation, management and research pedigree will be an asset to provide care to people with complex problems and a history of risk to themselves and others.
You'll be part of a large community of psychological professionals including psychologists, art/music therapists . You will be part of and lead projects that meet the needs of service users, key strategic targets for the directorate and also develop your interests in delivering comprehensive, recovery focused, high quality packages of care. We will value your ability to bring your personal/professional experience, integrating these with your knowledge to ensure psychological provision is of a high quality and evidence based. We have a history of supporting staff innovation to develop services combining the needs of the community and staff interests, whilst partnering with local and national services.
Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient and innovative Clinical and/or Forensic psychologist who is interested in managing, leading and developing services and people, as well as undertaking clinical and therapeutic work with highly complex individuals. A commitment to developing psychologically minded and well-informed professional teams is key and successful candidates will have good compassionate leadership skills, excellent time management, report writing, communication and organisational skills. Experience of secure environments, inpatients and community pathways for this service user group is desirable.
