Job summary
We are looking for a suitably experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or Equivalent Applied Psychological Practitioner with relevant post-qualification experience for Orsborn House Community Mental Health Teams and to contribute to leadership of the community transformation model. There are exciting changes under the community transformation model and the successful applicant would be heavily involved in this. We encourage applicants from Clinical/Counselling Psychology and also Applied Psychological Professions who feel that they meet the person specification. The post is part of our adult community mental health (CMHT) provision at our Orsborn House location, in West Birmingham.
You would be joining a team where management and separate clinical supervision will be provided by experienced psychologists/psychological therapists, who are able to support your learning and professional development needs, offering a range of clinical models and accreditation opportunities. The post-holder will report professionally to the Consultant Lead Psychologist for CMHTs.
Main duties of the job
The role requires a skilled and highly experienced clinician, who can work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, to provide a range of clinical services. Excellent opportunities to gain experience of multilevel and integrated service provision and to further develop skills of complex case assessment, formulation and the application of evidence based psychological interventions. You should have experience of working with service users with complex mental health and behavioural needs; additionally to be familiar with the needs of a diverse BAME community and working in areas of high socioeconomic deprivation.
We are dynamic and forward thinking; psychologists are strongly placed to lead on service development and delivery across all elements of the care pathway. The post-holder will be part of a multi-professional senior leadership team supporting the Transformation of our Community Services as part of the NHS Long Term Plan.
We have an established track record in service innovation supporting a diverse range of clinical and academic interest, with time for research and teaching related activities built into many of our psychological professions job plans. We have a well-developed CPD programme with protected CPD time and have robust supervision and professional line management systems. We have long and well established links with local doctoral training courses and higher education institutions in Birmingham and the surrounding West Midlands.
