Job summary

The Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit to a Specialty Doctor Posts at Lyndon CMHT, as part of the Solihull HUB.

We are looking for a candidate with a primary medical degree and full GMC registration, Section 12 approval, at least 4 years experience or equivalent in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent EEA training, with at least 2 years training experience in Psychiatry. MRCPsych, at least Part 1 or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry is desirable.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will work with wither Dr Greening , as part of the Lyndon CMHT in Solihull. You will join two senior Consultants, clinical lead and team manager, CPNs, psychologists, OTs, physical health nurses and other professionals. We have an ANP (Advanced Nurse Practitioner) who carries their own case-load and runs their own clinic, alongside a GPVTS trainee and an FY1 trainee.

About us

Dr Greening is the Head of School of Psychiatry in the West Midlands, and regularly has ST trainees alongside her.. There will be close supervision and support provided. the successful candidates' career development will be strongly supported, looking to further training or a special interest.

A feature of Solihull is how the main mental health services are still within the umbrella of BSMHFT Trust; therefore, we have excellent relationships with other local NHS services, including EIS, CAMHS, Drug and alcohol service, Older adults services.

You will work closely with the rest of the team. You will assess patients with a range of difficulties, up to a moderate complexity, with the support of your named Consultant. You will carry a caseload and your patients will have access to a daily, robust duty system when in crisis.
