Secure CAMHS (medium secure and low secure); SCOH

1.0 WTE 8A PERMANENT SPECIALIST SYSTEMIC FAMILY THERAPIST (band 7's welcome to apply)

A rare and exciting vacancy has arisen in our award winning Secure CAMHS team for a Family Therapist who is passionate about working with complex young people and their families.

We have an incredible national reputation, with accreditations from QNIC and the National Autistic Society. In our 2021 NHSE review, we received glowing feedback from young people, families, and commissioners about the care we provide, our passion for the young people and support we provide to staff.

As a Family Therapist in the team, there is access to weekly group supervision for the team, highly specialist systemic supervision and monthly CPD slots. We are part of a wider psychology team of over 70 staff with continued support and progression offered within this network. We also support development of our family therapy provision through funding staff to train to masters level. We are committed to supporting all our staff to have a positive experience of their time at work and further their careers.

Main duties of the job

The CAMHS services cover 3 wards (2 Medium and 1 Low secure) with capacity for 16 young people aged 12-18. The Family Therapist will work across the services, leading and developing the family therapy input. Our service users present with a range of complex mental health and risk needs (e.g. trauma, personality difficulties, neurodevelopmental difficulties, harm to themselves and others). This is a highly rewarding job for a Family Therapist who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged teenagers.

We work collaboratively as an MDT in a way that is informed by the trauma, attachment and neurodevelopmental experiences of service users. We place great emphasis on keeping our service users at the center of our decision making whilst ensuring that our staff group has a robust support system in place. A Family Therapist in our service plays a pivotal role in providing interventions at the individual, family and systems levels.

We are a team of compassionate, inclusive and committed people working together to provide excellent care to support our community. If you are looking for a place to belong, where you can make a real difference to people's lives, join our team where our warm welcome is waiting for you.
