Bases at Little Bromwich Centre (East Team), South and Solihull team bases TBC.
The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides a multi-disciplinary, regional service to treat mothers with mental health problems, both during pregnancy and in the first year post-partum.
Over the course of the last three years, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust have received funding to develop specialist perinatal community mental health teams. There is now continuing expansion under the NHS Long Term Plan, with a particular emphasis on increased access to a wider range of psychological therapies.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for highly motivated Clinical or Counselling Psychologists with an interest in perinatal mental health. The main clinical work undertaken is to provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention for mothers and their babies and families in the community. The role may also involve contributing to the supervision of psychology trainees or psychology assistants working in the community setting. Being allied to the multi-disciplinary team in the Perinatal Service, the post holder will act as a member of the team, attend meetings and offer advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to team colleagues.
